The PneumoADIP team is a small, dedicated team based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is supported by a $30 million grant from GAVI, and its partner, The Vaccine Fund. PneumoADIP aims to achieve its goals through partnership with countries, donors, academia, international organizations, and industry. PneumoADIP coordinates its activities through a strategic alliance with WHO.

The PneumoADIP is organized around 3 main areas of activities:

  1. Establishing the value of vaccination by demonstrating the burden of meningitis and pneumonia caused by pneumococcal bacteria and demonstrating the value of preventing it through vaccination.
  2. Communicating the knowledge about disease burden and the value of vaccination by ensuring that research data are communicated effectively to key decision makers through appropriate and effective channels.
  3. Delivering the value of the vaccine by ensuring that there is a predictable supply of quality vaccine at an affordable price, an adequate system to deliver it to the children who need it, and the financing to sustain its use.
