More Initiatives Need to Give Vitamin A
Experts in a research report suggested for more intensive initiatives for ensuring sufficient Vitamin A capsule to every newborn babies.
John Hopkins University, USA conducted a research in India, Indonesia and Bangladesh titling `effectiveness of Vitamin A on newborns`. The research report was handed over formally to Health Adviser ASM Matiur Rahman at his secretariat office on Tuesday.
Rolf Klemm of John Hopkins University presented a key report on the result of the research that said the key reason for blindness of a huge number of new born children is the lack of Vitamin A in this Asian region. The death rate is also mounting due to the shortage of this Vitamin.

The government was deeply thinking over giving special incentives to the parents who had one child, the health adviser, ASM Matiur Rahman, told a news briefing on Wednesday.
On the concluding day the adviser said, parents having one child are likely to be rewarded annually by the government.

This survival effect of either supplementation was evident after 1 year on the trial as reflected by a reduced relative risk of 0.54 (p<0.02).
